Lockdown
22nd May 2020
22nd May 2020
Hello, hope everyone is okay and staying safe during these unprecedented times.
At my last count we have been in lockdown for 9 weeks or so (and counting), it has been a very challenging time for everyone across the whole world!
From my own point of view the lack of photography has been a nightmare, i am so used to photographing grassroots sport so i like everyone is having to lead a different sort of life which is hard going at times.
At the same time, lockdown is an important part of trying to control this virus and if it in the long run saves lives and everything else i am all for it.
However weekends have been very different, i am either exercising and/or watching Belarusian and German (Bundesliga Football)
As far as my business goes, i am trying to generate sales from old photographs, these are photos which i have not put on my website so i figured i would get them out to everyone and see if i get any success.
Obviously over the prolonged period i will be posting more and more galleries probably about 2/3 times a week.
Long term everyone is unsure of whats going to happen, sporting wise especially down at Grassroots it would be a surprise if we get any play at all this year!. 2021 seems the most likely start date which is a long way off, unless of course we get some kind of miracle.
If i have any positives about this situation, i guess the time to refresh and update my business and learn new skills has been the main thing.
Trying to develop other types of photography other than sport has been another focus during the last few weeks.
Plans moving forward are to develop and offer more photography so while we go through this crisis expect different things to be posted on the website.
And finally for now, the website is going to have a full upgrade which will be a key focus as we progress through this crisis.
In the mean time stay safe and well, speak soon!

I went to photograph the EFDS Festival of Sport at Lakes Leisure in Ulverston on Monday. Their were alot of kids, enjoying all the sporting activitys. All the sports were put indoors due to the weather, which worked out well in the end.
Their were lots of sports going on in different parts of The Sports Hall, from Tag Rugby,Weelchair Basketball and Boccia.
It was the first time I actually did some photos of some the above sports, Boccia and Wheelchair Basketball especially.!
The rest of week saw me editing the photos I did from Mondays events as well as trying to arrange what I was doing for the weekend.
On Saturday I went to do Kendal Utd vs Kendal County in The Semi Final of The County Cup, before heading off to the Rugby match between Kendal and Percy Park!

Screen dumping/copying of photos
15th January 2013
15th January 2013
Over the past few months I have been concerned about the amount of people that have been screen dumping photographs from my website.
I would like to point out that the photographs on this website are NOT FREE!. If you screen dump any of my photographs you are breaking the copyright protection rules which are on this site (In other words you are 'breaking the law') this of which could have serious consequences for whoever is doing the dumping.
As obviously I do not want this to happen I would request that anyone doing this STOP immediately.
Thanks
Richard

Hello, hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year, After having a few weeks off I am back to it this weekend, (weather permitting), as i have a Junior Under 11 game on Sunday morning followed by a Basketball game on Sunday evening.
I am just looking forward to taking photographs, I did some shots of Kendal Towns home game with Chorley on New Years Day, I enjoyed getting back to the job I love doing!
For 2013 I am going to be pushing my business further forward, with some other types of Photography I am wishing to develop. Alot of these will be of a sports theme but I am also looking at doing photographs for people that want images for their business/sport club websites.
I have many other ideas, which i will be announcing over the coming weeks and months so watch this space.
See you out and about over the coming weeks, if anyone needs any photographs taking or has any queries ,feel free to let me know. You can contact me on 07805280185 or alternatively you can email me on richard-edmondson32@hotmail.co.uk

Frustrated by the weather 26/11/12
26th November 2012
26th November 2012
What a frustrating weekend!, all the Junior games i had planned were all called off due to waterlogged pitches.
This time of year is a nightmare for s Sports Photographer, especially for me
as i do alot of outdoor sport photographs.
That said i started with indoor stuff 2 weeks ago when i did photographs of Kendal Warriors BasketBall vs Barrow.
Indoor photography was something i have done in the past, but it was good to get back into it. The light and the setting of the camera is important, i had a bit of a job at first getting the right light, but once i solved the puzzle things seemed to come out okay!
This week I am planning on taking photographs of 5 aside football on Wednesday night, whilst also aiming to arrange things for next weekend, (weather permitting)
I suspect with christmas only weeks away, theirs going to be an enforced break from outdoor sport.
Sunday League has started indoors so I may cover that whilst the weather continues to be a pain!
Roll on the summer!

My latest Blog (Weekend of 21st and 22nd October)
22nd October 2012
22nd October 2012
It was quite a busy weekend as I covered alot of Football!
I started off Saturday morning covering a Junior Football game, it was an age group i have covered once before in the past.
For the game I decided to try some new Photography techniques, but quickly realised that these techniques weren't for me. Although they are techniques which I may keep working with as the season progresses.
On Saturday afternoon i was down at The Westmorland Football game between Kendal Celtic and Burneside in what was a bottom of the table league encounter.
A very entertaining game, their was some good light to take photos, not to Sunny, yet not to dull. I also fitted in Ibis's cup game with Ullswater Utd which kicked off earlier on the next pitch.
on Sunday I decided to cover a Sunday League match between Castle Rangers and North West Water. It was a lovely day, the last time i covered a Sunday League game was over a year ao so it was good to go back and take some photos for what was an entertaining game.
For Sunday afternoon I covered a dramatic Under 18 cup game between 10 man Kendal Celtic and Kendal County. The game went to extra time, I was taking alot of photographs which you can see if you click on my gallery.
The start of another week and yet more plans ahead, I have already started by tidying up my website, making the portfolio part of the site easier to look through. I am also putting plans in place for the weekend ahead.
Trying to fit as much sport in as I can before the inevitable big freeze arrives!

I have another exciting weekend of photography to look forward to, Saturday I am at Kendal Mens Hockey vs Wigan, before i travel off to the Jubilee for Kendal Celtic vs Burneside. At the end of football I might just go and catch a bit of Kendal Rugby vs Hull, I haven't done photographs of the rugby for a while. Sunday I have Junior football, with 2 games, one at 10.30, which will be followed by one at 2pm.
So another busy weekend instore, all good fun!

Thursday morning and I am already planning for the weekend, hopefully a full weekend of cricket to take some photographs of a fantastic sport.

Last weekend I did Kendal vs Leyland, as well as Netherfields 2nds vs Blackpools 2nd's. On Sunday i was doing Cumberland vs Shropshire and the John Scott Cup tie between Netherfield 2nd's and Cleator.
